The piece, “Tree Waltz,” is inspired by the school’s unique site with its community of trees at the Fell Arboretum and by the gestural and emotional expressions of dance, theater, film, visual art, and music that make up the school’s arts program. The sculpture is about capturing the fullest expression of this diverse artistic ISU culture, fused with the beauty and historical gravity of the campus's indigenous tree species.
